Starting out at Burns Cottage, the humble four-room abode where Burns was born on 25th January 1759, we will explore long-standing landmarks that served as the inspiration for some of Scotland’s most celebrated poems, including Tam o’ Shanter, as well as stimulating new artwork and installations.
We’ll also be sure not to miss the award-winning new Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, containing the world’s largest collection of Burns artifacts. Here you can view some of Burns’ personal belongings, including original manuscripts written in his own hand, alongside interactive activities and rousing recordings of the poet’s work.
