Holiday Packing Checklist

Summer holidays

Packing for your holidays brings with it a unique combination of excitement and stress. Although that never-ending list of things you need to buy and sort out in preparation for your trip can seem overwhelming, the thought of sipping cocktails on a sunny beach usually more than makes up for it!
For all of you lucky people who are jetting off to warmer climes this summer, we’ve created a holiday packing checklist. Whether you’re super-organised and like to get all of your packing out of the way well in advance or you’re the last-minute type who ends up stuffing everything into your suitcase the night before your flight, read our checklist to make sure you don’t forget any holiday essentials!

Passport and Tickets

This one barely needs repeating, but you’d be surprised at the number of customers we’ve had to take all the way back home in a mad last minute dash to retrieve their passport or flight tickets. Remember to take printed copies of your hotel and rental car reservations too, if you’ve booked them beforehand.

Travel Insurance

It’s better to be safe than sorry, so don’t risk going on holiday without booking travel insurance first! Read through the options available to you thoroughly before making a decision to ensure that you get the right level of coverage for your needs. If you’re travelling in Europe, don’t forget to bring your EHIC card too!

Travel Money

Shop around to try to get the best possible deal on currency before you go, and make sure to look into alternative options like Travellers’ Cheques and prepaid currency cards as well.
Top Tip: If you’re taking your credit or debit cards with you on holiday, it’s a good idea to call your bank and let them know that you’re going away to avoid any service restrictions.

Sun Protection

Don’t forget to pack sun cream with good levels of UVA and UVB protection. Sun protection doesn’t end there though, so be sure to bring sunglasses, sun hats and lip balm with SPF too!

Toiletries and Medicines

Bring your favourite shampoos, shower gels and other beauty products on holiday with you – just remember to follow airport guidelines on liquids in your hand luggage. It’s also a good idea to pack a mini first aid kit with bandages and plasters, anti-septic, painkillers and anti-histamines, just in case.
Top Tip: Put any liquid toiletries in resealable plastic bags to avoid any damage to your clothes if they burst or start to leak in transit!

Don’t forget the charger!

Airport Transfers

Last but by no means least, remember to book your airport transfers in advance to ensure that you get to the airport with plenty of time to make your flight and even enjoy a spot of duty-free shopping too! It’s also great to have a taxi ready and waiting to transport you straight home to your own bed when you get back. After we were let down by another taxi company (who didn't show for our airport pick up) Streamline couldn't have been better. they got to us in great time, helped with the bags into the car and got us to Prestwick Airport in plenty of time to catch our flight - thanks guys
